boring lecture, not an engaging professor.

She is a great professor. She is very thorough as she explains things both theoretically and empirically. I highly recommend her over Rojas. Rojas is an okay professor but doesn't cover as much content as Casanova. My advice is to simply focus on her power points and not read the book. I received an A in the class.

I personally really liked this professor. She took her time and was very clear in explaining the concepts. Her exams were fair and easier than the homework. The mistakes on the lecture slides that other people mentioned were negligible. I would recommend taking her.

Okay people. If you think Econ 103 is hard, then you are just stupid. Don't blame the professor. Thanks.

i think econ103, the course itself introduces very important and practical materials. however, with this prof's lectures with countless mistakes and corresponding lecture notes, i wasn't able to learn anything from this class.. take other profs class for more intuitive explanation or, take other regression analysis classes offered by stat department for more rigorous understanding.

Her exam is highly pressured, then i have nothing else to mention

First off, I got a B+ in this class because I missed most of her lectures and even when I was in lecture, I did not listen to her. Also, I studied her slides, but I did not memorize them and I wished that I had when I was taking the final. Basically, you need to do be diligent about doing the homework and turning them in every week and get over 90% on the midterm and memorize everything on her slides and know how Stata (a stat software you must use to take this class) screens look like and how to read the information. So, if you don't do your homework properly, it will eventually hurt you again on the final because she prints the screenshots of Stata and asks you to calculate things like covariance. Also, no calculator is allowed in any of her exams so make sure to brush up on your paper-and-pencil method of calculation because when numbers go over thousands and you have to divide that by some decimal numbers like 20.69, you are screwed. Also, the final is incredibly long. She gives you a booklet like one of those things you saw in high school AP exams.

- Memorize the slides
- Doing the homework is a must
- Stata is love, Stata is life
- Exams are extremely time pressured
- Going to lecture... might not really be necessary. I skipped the lecture unless I had to turn in my hw and still managed to get A.(This does not mean you can pull the class off without studying at all. In my case, I spent around 3 hours to study each lectures. The reason why I did not went to the lecture was only because I thought it would benefit me more if I studied it myself.)
- You might want to go to all the TA sessions since that is where you learn how to use Stata
