Ms. Boss is a STUD of a teacher and the course content is super interesting. However, beware that this class will certainly be challenging and demand an understanding of each of the cases in granular detail. Also, I was a bit disappointed that Ms. Boss claimed that the entirety of the final would cover second half topics, yet 30% of the final content was first half cases.

MY ADVICE: Know the cases inside and out and disregard any specifications she gives you for the midterm/final, JUST KNOW EVERYTHING.

TAKE THIS CLASS. As her name suggests, Prof. Boss is indeed a boss. She clearly knows the material through and through and explains everything in a clear and easily digestible manner. To get an A in this class, write down everything she says (the TAs take notes, but only use them as a guide to keep up). I would personally attend the lectures, then watch the recording again to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I would make flash cards on quizlet for final and midterm prep will all the cases and vocab. I honestly found the class quite easy since the material is so interesting and applicable. Wonderful class, wonderful professor.

Professor Boss is a great professor and this was one of the more interesting classes part of the accounting minor because it requires a different type of thinking. That being said, you must put time into this class and do not get behind. I would suggest to take very diligent notes and every week review the 2 lectures alongside the textbook and make your flashcards. Even with a lot of time and effort I still got a B+, but I don't mind because I really enjoyed her lectures and learned so much. Professor Boss is very helpful if you attend office hours which is in a casual setting at Northern Lights.

The exams are very difficult and require A LOT of studying. There are many nuances to business law that will require you to study quite a bit and sometimes she asks you to retain an unreasonable amount of knowledge. However, she is pretty clear in lecture. Also, make sure you go to the review session's with her TAs. They will help you learn the material for the exam to a T. Also, lots and lots of reading, but not a lot of additional assignments.

Professor Boss was an amazing professor. She came in during week four to cover for Professor Klein who was originally teaching the class. She is clearly an expert in her field and her teaching style was very refreshing. Rather than just simply explain legal terms, she would give real examples of legal terms and situations through cases. The tests were hard but honestly I could have received an A in this class had I prioritized it more. You will have to study the cases and know them like the back of your hand, but once you know them the tests should be a breeze. Definitely take Professor Boss if you have any upper div elective courses you need to take or if you need to take MGMT 108 as a requirement. Business law is something that every student should learn about as it is applicable in just about every career path.

I am disappointed in myself for not getting an A+, it was that clearly taught. Make sure you take good notes, read the cases she mentions in class, and mayyybe skim the textbook. The notes are 97% of the tests, the other 2.8% is the cases and 0.2% is textbook.

I really liked the professor!
She grades the exams all herself, so she doesn't regrade (except in simple arithmetic errors of adding points incorrectly)! THEREFORE, YOU MUST WRITE CLEARLY OR SHE MIGHT MISS YOUR INTENDED ANSWER.

Exams are ~half multiple choice and t/f and ~half short answer/essay (to my vague recollection).

Prof. Boss is great at teaching Business Law. The class is interesting, and you learn a lot of useful things to carry on with you even if you're not going to law school. You have to buy and read the textbook if you expect to pass the class. The material is a bit rigorous, but if you pay attention in class, whatever she lectures on will be on the test, nothing more (and she's pretty specific when she lectures).

One word.....Provincial.

You know I deserved the A, baby.

You know I deserved it!

If you gave it to me, I would have volunteered to be one of your butt-munching T.A.'s. I would have been one of the great ones.

You and me...we would have been great together.

So long, sweetness...so long.

Still, I gave her straight "8's" on the quantitative ratings. She was good, REAL GOOD ;-)and I learned alot, too -- even in the ridiculously short 6 weeks of summer. Oh, those sweet, stressful days of the summer of '04.

Thanks for the memories, babe. Cause that's all I got now. I deserved that A -- I mean, couldn't you find it in your heart to give it to me. Couldn't you have found one lousy ounce of sympathy...couldn't you?

Professor Boss is one of the best professors I've taken at UCLA. Her teaching style is very organised, and she is very clear with all the material you need to know for the exams. She is very easy to approach, and her T.A.'s were also very helpful. As far as the exams, they are very fair because she makes it a point to announce everything that will be on the midterm. In fact, she won't put anything on the midterm or final that is in the book, but has not covered in class.
I highly recommend this class with Professor Boss to not just all Econ majors, but to all students, because this is the most relevant and interesting class I've taken at UCLA.
