I decided to take Comm 1 with Gregory because of her generous-looking grade distribution. That was a huge mistake. I went to only one class and I'm already 100% sure I'm going to drop this class. A word of warning for you guys. I usually take bruinwalk comments with a grain of salt, but the comments below are pretty accurate.
She definitely gave the impression that your grade is totally based on how much she likes you. However, because she is extremely opinionated, and unless you are a meticulous reader of people, you will find it difficult to predict where her biases lie -- some of the more vocal people seemed to get punished for expressing ideas or opinions that she found appalling. Furthermore, her class is completely unstructured. We talked about everything from her personal life (!) to why she thinks technology is ruining our generation. The professor, herself, was 10-15 minutes late for class, and then seemed to become offended when some of us suggested that we had to leave in order to be on time for other classes -- and I'm not talking about leaving early; I'm talking about leaving 5 minutes past the time the class is supposed to end.
In short, unless you are extremely confident that you can get on her good side (IE. You knew someone that took the class before and she liked that person), avoid this class.
