Im selling the textbook for this class for $20 plus shipping, or you can offer something lower, if it hasn't sold yet, I might take it! email me: *************
Meldrum has a very straightforward teaching style. However, she often forgets to include slides when she posts them online, and has to send additional slides later. Her slides are also somewhat confusing and difficult to follow, but if you pay attention in lecture then you should be fine. She explains concepts pretty well and in good detail.
For the course: As a STEM student, I struggled more with the material that Meldrum covered in class, especially considering it was often historical, philosophical, and ethical discussion. Listen carefully in lectures and always re-read her slides, because many times, quiz/test questions are essentially verbatim.
For the professor: I think Meldrum is the sweetest, most patient, and most dedicated professor in the entire course. She puts so much effort into the course, including hosting little dinners that students can sign up for. I can say this with a fairly unbiased view, considering I have not had many encounters with her, but through the few encounters we have had, I can easily tell she is very dedicated to her students and their learning. While concepts can be difficult to understand, just ask questions because she is always willing to answer and explain.
The course is fun but a challenge, it's doable. The cluster is taught by professors from the subjects: sciences but also humanities. It was a lot of fun. Make sure to form a study group, they help a lot. It's a good intro to life here at UCLA.
I am selling the course textbooks for cheap; the price is negotiable. text me at **********
