Spring 2022 - When I took 112, it was on gender/feminism and I wasn't really that engaged with the material if I'm honest. The novels were a little dry and a few of the films we watched were older and more avant garde, so I found it hard to really enjoy what we were learning about, but I think that's just down to my personal taste. I still really enjoyed the course and Professor Zubiaurre was amazing. She's really caring and always wants to hear from her students, which makes it so much more worth it to come to class because it means not having to sit through a boring lecture. She only showed us slides a few times (to give historical context on what we were reading, etc.) but when she did, I really enjoyed the presentations because they were very visual-oriented. I was also really glad that she was such a lenient grader (at least compared to the uptight English professors that I'm used to) and gave us freedom to write about whatever we wanted. I had a good experience and I would definitely take her again!
