Ahhh I can't even tell you how much I loved molecular parasitology and I'm not even an MIMG major.
Okay, Larry is a pretty old guy who can sometimes sound boring, but he's really knowledgeable about what he teaches and you just know that he's lived a really interesting life.
I thought his exam was pretty straightforward, basically it's just regurgitating all of the information you know on a particular subject and yeah, you probably won't get full credit for all of the questions even if you write down everything -- that's just how its graded. But you're in the same boat as everyone else, so don't worry.
I thought some of the stuff he talked about was more interesting than Johnson's half, but overall I liked Johnson better as a professor.
I thought this class was pretty easy. It's not really even that much memorizing.
Take it!!! Maybe you'll love it as much as I did!
Professor Simpson is a nice person but a so-so instructor, which is what really matters. The material really is not that bad, it's just difficult to organize it in your head because his slides are not very organized at all. He is very passionate about the subject which is nice, except for it makes him go really in depth about some topics, he goes off on tangents and goes on and on about stuff that is not on the slides and you don't know whether you're going to need to know that stuff or not...it would be really nice if he'd tell you. But other than that his tests are not that bad. It's not all just memorization but for the most part it is. I really can't complain about his tests, it wasn't too hard. Except for one question that the TA said almost every person got wrong because it wasn't a good question. But overall, his test wasn't too bad and as long as you can organize the material well in your head you should be fine.
