First and foremost, this is NOT a comparative religion type of course. It's more about logical, rational argumentation regarding the possible existence of a god, but it doesn't have to do anything with examining any major world religions. That said, Kaiser is awesome. He's so kick back that he didn't mind when I walked into the midterm or the final late (because I was cramming at the last minute). His lectures do get a bit redundant, but that's helpful because the ideas brought up in class are not pathetic ones. They require active thinking and analysis. However, I can't imagine that anyone who puts in the time to ask questions and seek clarification would not be able to get a good grade in this class, particularly because the TA's were very thorough in going over the exam study guides (which WERE identical to the exams). To be honest, I didn't read any of the course reader's articles and I crammed things in at the last minute; fortunately, I had heard things enough so that with a few 11th hour review questions with the TA, I was able to pull off a good grade. Kaiser is a really nice guy and his sense of humor helps move the class along. My best piece of advice is that if a student is asking a philosophical question for their own edification that doesn't really pertain to the materials that will be tested, avoid the confusion and disregard it. There's a strong temptation to go off on tangents in this subject, but tangents don't help your GPA any.
Keith was an awesome professor. Always made sure you knwo what he was talking about, down to earth and funny. His examples made the things stand out in your mind nor did he force you to philosophize. He also knew how much of his own personal life to put into the lecture as in the end of the lectures, we weren't sure where he really stood, thereby not really swaying anyone. Highly recommended.
Kaiser is an excellent professor who takes the time to explain things well and most importantly just like everyone else said, HE CARES ABOUT STUDENTS LEARNING THE MATERIAL. He doesn't make things confusing but takes the time to break things down in multiple ways if people don't understand. His humorous examples in lecture make things easy to remember and his exams aren't hard if you've gone to lecture and studied the notes. I definitely recommend this professor.
This is the most humorously entertaining professor I have had at UCLA. He knows his material really well, answers everyone's questions and knows how to restate anything to make it clear to everyone. You feel like his equal in his class, because he lets you in on his personal life once in a while, and is always making witty jokes. He also makes a great effort so show every side of each issue, and does a great job. My favorite professor so far.
Great professor!!! Made philosophy very fun and interesting. As a senior, I had never had a philosophy class so I didn't know what to expect. What the other reviewers said is so true!! He has a great sense of humor and his explainations are very clear.
Its not that his class is overly easy, its fair. There's a huge difference. You have to go to lecture every day. That's a must!! But if you go to lecture, study the notes for the exam, and know the material, you will get a good grade and you will come out feeling you learned something interesting.

Keith Kaiser's is a real cool guy/professor. He's got charisma, he's got personality, he's funny (i mean it), he makes the material easy and clear to understand, and he wants u to learn. His lectures were like discussion sessions, and that's incredible considering the class was 250+ people (Note: that number enrolled actually well exceeded enrollment capacity by at least 40 people). When I say he wants u to understand the material, i mean it. He'll review it to death if he has to clear things up. His tests aren't hard either because he'll give you the test questions that are going to be on the test before the test. He won't try and inundate u with stuff either. it seems like he's more interested in u knowing a few things really well, then knowing a bunch of stuff superficially. I agree w/ the post that said, "he wants to make sure everyone understands the material, and won't go on until you're all caught up." Oh yeah, u gotta love those breaks he gives in the middle of class. Did i meantion how funny he is 2. Like dude, no Doubt about it--Keith is highly recommended.
