I skipped more than half these lectures and still passed. Professor Mcdonald's lectures are like me reading the textbook by myself. Only reason I passed was because she (reluctantly) gave a study guide to us and the class created a Google Doc and did it all together. Even the TAs were unsure of how the test was being graded, but for that reason they were lenient on us. She is nice, I just would not take her again.

This was the most unorganized college class I have ever taken. Ms. McDonald provides no powerpoints, instead lecturing free form in which she often forgets what she is talking about. There are very limited resources provided, and she gave us access to the textbook the day before the midterm, after promising it the entire quarter. The syllabus clearly stated there would be no questions about the software we learned in section, and she even told us this the day before the midterm, yet about half of the exam questions were on the software. She told us the course would be curved throughout the quarter, but after the Final decided not to curve it. She doesn't communicate at all with the TAs, and has no idea what they are doing. Only about a quarter of the class showed up to lecture because it was so hard to follow. She forgot to bring the exams to the midterm and we started 15 minutes late, and she gave us no extra time. I learned nothing in this course. Avoid this class if you can, Ms. McDonald should not be a teacher at UCLA.
