Holczer is a very nice and likable guy, but a poor teacher. I stopped going to his lectures and went to Corbin's instead or just read the book. The class was extremely easy with me just taking college prep physics in high school. Holczer has an accent which is very hard to understand (though kinda awesome) and his handwriting isn't good. We graded homework in class which was definitely a plus, none of that online hw stuff. His tests were extremely easy. They are just questions from the book. In fact one of the questions on the final was a question I had done the night before while studying. Pretty much everyone gets A's which really helped my GPA since its a 5 unit class. I'd take his class again so that I'd get all the easy tests but just go to a different teacher's lectures.
Taking him was the worst thing I could even do to my GPA. Because Physics is 5 units to getting a grade lower than A really screws my GPA up. UGH. His accent is impossible to listen and he drags ON and ON and ON and seriously ON about the things that HAVE NOTHING to do with the real text book. 1A was difficult for me even though I already took Physics in high school. Don't underestimate this class. Also, I have no idea how the heck he grades the class because my friend got lower grade than me for all the tests and she ended up with a A- while I have a B+. Homework is ten percent and that's probably why. but his grading system is still ridiculous. Last but not least, do the back of the book/homework problem and go to discussion because those help and sometimes they turn up on the midterms/finals. Oh, last but not least, his Bulgarian TA is hot. Just saying.
