great class! this was definitely an easy GE for me. i like the first person's review; it's a lot of reading and the reading is very dry, but she goes over key terms in lecture and she repeats herself if its an important definition you need to know. if you read through the readings and know all the terminology well (and you get a study guide for the tests so you know exactly which terms you need to know), you will do awesome on the midterm and final. some other good things about this class was it wasn't writing intensive at all (only two 2-page "personal responses") and the final wasn't cumulative.
I really enjoyed this class because Professor Eileraas really made it the material relevant to us. I really liked how she organized her lectures. It was a standard powerpoint, but she also included films and short clips to break the monotony of it all. The professor often allowed a forum during her lecture, where we could ask her questions and respond to what she was talking about. Although some of the readings were really dry, if you pay attention in lecture, you'll definitely ace the midterms and finals. She really wants you to remember and refer to the readings on tests though. There were two journals, but they were just 2 pages each, so not a lot of writing required.
