Quarter: Spring 2021
Grade: A

Karen Quartz is the nicest professor! She cares deeply about her students and tries to ensure everyone is comfortable and learning. This course (187- Variable Topics in Education: Democracy, Justice, and Education) was graded on participation, a large group project/ presentation, and an 8 page final paper. She grades very fair and as long as you come with a positive attitude you will do well.

Quarter: Winter 2022
Grade: A+

Review for (renamed) Education 13: Justice, Democracy, and Education.

This course was really fun! Before coming in, I had never even heard of a community school. Now, I'm very intrigued! Professor Quartz is one of the warmest, nicest, most accomodating professors I've had. She had a quarter riddled with challenges, going from online to in-person/hybrid teaching, which was difficult. She managed it all very well. This course had a presentation and an 8-page paper, which were graded somewhat easily, but fairly. she is an inspirational person and I would highly recommend her class to others. She even organized field trips for our class, which was definitely a highlight! This class kind of felt like a family!
