Overall, this is one of the easiest classes I have taken. Its all memorization, so just make sure you read the course reader, take good notes, and memorize your notes thoroughly. Going to lectures is not necessary other than the days he gives out answers to the exams. He usually does this on Fridays near the end of lecture so I would only show up for the last 20 mins of lecture on Fridays and still managed to get an A.

Im also selling my course reader with an active iProfile account. The course reader is in perfect condition with no notes! Please text ********** if you are interested!

This class is alright but for Spring Quarter, I felt that this class didn't really live up to all the reviews saying how easy this GE was. Lectures were pre recorded and given asynchronously at a certain time and along with each lecture, a participation quiz was attached. You had until 10pm the day of to complete the quiz and every even week on Fridays, there was the participation quiz along with 2 additional quizzes needed to be completed back to back. They quizzed you on past lecture material as well as lab discussions. There were a LOT of quizzes and the wordings on each one were quite tricky and often confused a lot of students. Certain information said in lecture is then twisted in another way on the quizzes and if you didn't fully understand what was discussed, you're likely to miss the question. Take really good notes and pay attention to what Professor says instead of what is listed on his slides. They're a little disorganized. This class requires you to buy a course reader + iProfile software to track what you eat and what you do for 7 consecutive days. Honestly, not worth the prices AT ALL. Lectures are enough to get you through the quizzes, midterm, and final. You could find a cheaper version of iProfile on Amazon or share with your peers (multiple profiles can be made in one single program). There's one big project due at the last week of the quarter that uses all the information you inputted into the software and you have to write discussions and recommendations on each nutrient, vitamin, and macronutrient that you're deficient, in excess, or in range of. It's tiring to do and very repetitive. If you don't want to waste your money, I can offer my course reader + iProfile software for a reduced price than what is being charged (you can't get these materials from the UCLA store). Text ********** and if in need of good lecture notes, midterm reviews, and final reviews, I can offer those too so good luck with this class!

Professor Esdin not only wants you to do well in his class but his main goal is for you to get something really valuable from this class, and that is a healthy lifestyle. Personally, after taking his class, I became more careful about what I ate and started to work out more. I did take this class during COVID so I did not get to experience the fun in person lectures. The lectures for this class were not live, they were recorded and were simply him going over slides with bullet points and giving brief overviews of each topic. I would have liked if he added his camera in every single one of his recordings to keep students more engaged.

IMPORTANT ASSIGNMENT is a lifestyle project where you have to record every single meal you consume and all the physical activity you do for an entire week. You are not graded on your health, just on your actual analysis on what you eat and exercise.

For this project YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE iprofile platform, which is a software used to track what you eat and your exercise. I bought this for about 30 dollars on amazon but I am willing to hand it down to someone for HALF PRICE! :) 100% you will need this so feel free to contact me **********2

Esdin is a great professor! Most of you know what the 7 series is like now, and 7C is no different. I did find the content much more interesting than 7A and 7B, and Esdin is also super engaging (and sarcastically funny), even in remote lectures. I actually found Launchpad to be quite useful for this class as it is important to know the basics of all the human body systems before attending the lectures and doing the exams. Definitely take advantage of the pre-class reading worksheets and the CLC worksheets because it helps you center in on what the important takeaways are (the Launchpad can be a bit dense). Midterms and final were all multiple choice and most questions were true/false. It seems they took away the free response that Spring students had. I would definitely take Esdin for 7C. If you would like a condensed and cheap study guide of the class, contact *************

This has been my favorite class by far. 10/10 recommend. The information I learned in this class was very useful and it helped me begin a healthier lifestyle. Overall it is an easy GE to take and it will boost your GPA as long as you dedicate some time to memorization. Professor Esdin is a great lecturer and explains the material clearly.
