Worst professor you'll ever have at UCLA. Extremely boring, thinks he is above you, will not reply to your email (unless it will say "no comment"), and will literally give you a hell for a final. Don't let the easy midterm based on notes fool you- the final will be terrible and will suck the life out of you. All you are to him is a person on his stupid rubric (he has a rubric and he marks points like that for your exams) and could not care less about you. Waste of time!
Summary- DO NOT TAKE HIM!
oh stop bitching..his classes are great, and your probably just an ass..
I had to write after I read the other reviews. This is my second class with Professor Liljeblad. His lectures are very straight forward, he writes everything on the board and always welcomes questions. There is no excuse to not do well in his class. If you actually show up to lectures, do the readings and complete all of the assignments, you will do well in the class. I received an A- last quarter and on my midterm I thought I did a little better than my score indicate, so I looked at his grading rubric and realized a couple of key points I had not put down. It was all written out right there for me to see, I knew exactly what he had been looking for in the answer and it was my fault that I missed it.
As far as his personality, yes he is quriky, but very interesting. If you disagree with him speak up, I've heard people in class disagree and I don't think they failed the class for it. Also, grow up! This is a top level university. The professor is not here to hold your hand or be your buddy. Just like in the professional world, you will have bosses you don't like or don't agree with, but you better do your work or you will be fired. I have a feeling most of the negative comments were from students who failed to take responsiblity for their own failings as a student in the class.
On the whole, Professor Liljeblad is a very fair and interesting professor. I enjoy his classes and it seems like most of the students around me also do. Keep up with the readings, show up, and take good notes and you will do well.
