Modern Receptions of Ancient Political Thought.
There are 2 ways to view this class. On the one hand, there are no midterms/finals. It is 2 papers (one 5 page and one 10 page) and that's your entire grade. AND you get to pick the topic of the 10 pager, which is not too shabby...you definitely don't have to put in a lot of work if you don't want to, so in that way the class is good. Especially if you aren't that interested in philosophy.
HOWEVER,
THE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTE LECTURES ARE PAINFUL. He is not an interesting lecturer AT ALL, the class drones on, and I have to say this class was incredibly boring. I feel like the right professor can make philosophy interesting and mind opening, but this class shut me down to it entirely. I ended up not going to a lot of the lectures in the end to save myself from waking up at 9am to walk to class only to fall asleep in class again.
Even if you are fascinated by philosophy, I don't know how much you will enjoy having the subject destroyed by this professor. I'm so glad this class is over. (I got an A on the first paper but the second one has yet to be graded)
