110A, not 110C
Professor Caldwell is a great lecturer, and the course is enjoyable, especially because it follows general American History.
However, the course material is badly organized. There is a lot of information: lectures, screenings, textbook, PDF readings; and it all counts in the examinations.
The exams are not easy. Although he gave a good study-guide for the midterm, the grading was very hard--points off for anything omitted. Without the study-guide, there is no doubt, more than half the class would fail.
The Term-paper is nothing short of stressful. It requires you to articulate 4 specific articles into the paper even though some are not relevant to each other or the topic of your paper.
This a class I DO NOT recommend to take if you are not a film related major/minor.
To be fair I have to say that the course material is enjoyable. The lectures are not difficult to understand. The reading are straightforward.
If you are willing to put the time and work for this class, you will enjoy it. If you are taking this class hoping to be an easy GE and you have no prior experience to film, get ready for a rough ride.
