MITA is a scam do not buy it you do not need to have it, literally did not use it once and only got it because I was told it was required. Was told by some other students that it was created by someone else in the music department, I don't know if that's true but regardless it was not needed.
I took this class without knowing anything about music which made some of the projects take me a while to do but nothing was too bad. If you have experience with music this class will be a piece of cake, if not it is still easily doable you'll just need to put in some extra work.
Overall not a bad class, I got a good grade but it is not a class I would take again. TA's were really nice though, little interaction with the actual prof.
Because of all the previous reviews, I went into this class thinking it would be the easiest GE coming from a music background. And it kinda was. HOWEVER. Professor Ho is probably the most boring lecturer I've encountered, and the TA I had was kind of a harsh grader. This class is less about what you know about music and more about artistic interpretation. If you're looking for a class that's just going to test your knowledge of basic musical concepts like scales and rhythm, don't take this class. There are a couple of essays where you write about music pieces and how you can use the "elements of music" to interpret the musicians message, which was not hard, but it was a pain. Overall, this class was okay.
