If you are not prepared for hard, upper div courses, then DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. ONLY TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU THINK YOU ARE THE BEST STUDENT IN THIS DEPARTMENT. Jens is my favorite professor in maths department but there are just so many students doing much better.
I really liked Eberhardt and thought he was engaging in class and really good at explaining what we were learning. If you put in the work the material is understandable and easy to work through.

Mostly agree with the comment below. I absolutely loved his German accent ("Zigma"). Homework is very easy, midterms are easy, final is harder. In the finals, I think he dropped a big pile of final papers and he accidentally said "f**k," and the entire class immediately burst into laughter.
Professor Jens is young and often funny at times. His homework is incredibly short - I usually finished them in about 10 minutes maximum. His tests are fair. His first two midterms, however, were surprisingly easy. I think about half the class aced the first midterm. Don't get too comfortable though, because he makes his final exam way harder, probably so there aren't too many A's. Highly recommend because his German accent makes the class even more enjoyable, he's funny/friendly, and he allows for cheat sheets - which can be extremely helpful.
Jens is one of my favorite professors I have taken at UCLA. He is young, funny and makes sure his students understand the concepts in lecture. Goes through lots of example problems, homework is super short (less than 6 problems per week). Midterms were pretty straight forward and fair, final a lot harder - which is to be expected. He allows for cheat sheets on the midterms and final which can save you. Overall, if you have to take this class I would take it with him because he is great and you will really learn a lot.
I thought Jens was really good! The homework was easy, midterms also pretty easy-- especially the first one. Final was kinda tricky but as long as you understand the concepts well, you should be able to logic everything out and do well enough to get an A in the course! Definitely one of my favorite professors since he was funny and kept lectures light and was straightforward.
