Wong was a great lecturer and always ended class early (albeit it was because he spoke really fast). He explains content well and it is clear he loves the material he teaches. The content was interested, and exams were 30 question MCQ (3 exams, noncumulative). Light workload, but you have to study for exams since they make up the majority of your grade. Also, this professor lies on the liberal end of politics and its pretty clear through the way he teaches. His bias never caused a problem in terms of teaching clarity, but just mentioning it for those of you who want to know about style of teaching/ bias.

I am selling my notes for this class, contact me at ********** if interested.

I also sell notes for LS7C, LS7B, LS7A, Psych 118, Psych 115, Psych 110, Psych 120A, Psych 127A, and Psych 10.

If you ever get the chance to take this class with Dr. Wong, please do!! This class was so interesting and eye-opening and the way he structured the class made it easy to focus on learning the concepts instead of memorization. I took it when it was online so all tests (2 midterms and a final, all non-cumulative) were done on CCLE. We were also required to answer study questions on CCLE that were like practice quiz problems (you got full credit if you got an 80% or better) and we were able to attempt the quiz as many times as we wanted as long as it was before the due date. All tests were multiple-choice and were very fair and representative of the content he taught. Overall, I would highly recommend this class!

The man, the myth, the legend, Dr. Jared Wong. He is one of the best lecturer/professor I've had in my entire UCLA career, as he is always super welcoming and caring about his student learning. Regarding the class, the class does focus a lot on biology and the evolution of psychosexual behaviors but it was definitely super interesting to learn about your own identity. This class was definitely not the easiest course I've taken, but the workload is relatively light. During the summer, the grade distribution was broken down into 37% midterm, 37% final, 16% study questions, and 10% attendance (only during summer since it was 23 students total). The first half of the course is relatively super fair and pretty straightforward, but the 2nd half of the course was a KILLER. I underestimated it so much, as the final exam hit me like a truck, but nonetheless, it was super doable. His exams are super fair because he tests straightforward from lecture and slides, but about 50% of the questions on the test are relatively tricky so make sure you write down everything he says in lecture to clarify stuff. Other than that, just put in the work and try to love what you learn in this course, and you will do great. Good luck.

Let me be clear, this class is tough. You need to know the material inside out and study with other people to do well. The content is interesting and engaging, so it feels like it would be an easy class but the tests are often tricky. There are 3 tests, 30 questions each, that are 80% of your grade, and 10 quizzes, that are 20% of your grade. The quizzes are hugely helpful bc they are due the week after the content is learned, and you get full credit if you get 5/10. The lowest grade is dropped as well. The tests are tough, if you miss a few questions, you're in the B range. There is EC as well, 2% on top. That said, Dr. Wong is AMAZING! So knowledgeable about many topics, and I believe he designed the course himself so this is something he is passionate about.
