Fall 2020 - FOR PSYCH 119Y: Dr. Wong is one of the nicest professors I've had, and presents his lecture topics clearly where he can keep your attention for most of the lecture (sometimes can seem really long, ~75 min). His tests are fair, testing on mostly lecture material with corresponding material from the book. He holds office hours regularly after the lecture where you can ask about course material or even just have a nice conversation, and has introduced me to a topic that you probably have not taken at UCLA before. Highly recommend taking him for this class, easy upper div for psychobio!

Winter 2018 - Great professor for 116. This class is naturally a lot of work and the concepts can require a lot of memorization, but he communicates everything very clearly and effectively. The class is split into three modules: neuroanatomy, Swimmy (neuronal circuits), and visual neuroscience. Neuroanatomy was definitely the hardest and required solid understanding and identification of every brain structure. The other two modules are pretty easy and are graded on lab write-ups. Overall, highly recommend taking 116 with Wong.

Fall 2022 - I loved this class! The most difficult module was with Dr. Wong; we were tested on parts of the brain and given a lab practical to test our knowledge of associated systems, functions, etc. I studied a lot for this module and made Anki cards, created a Goodnotes notebook with all the notes from class + extremely detailed pictures/labels from the past year's lab practical + study guides that my friends and I created. Since I put in so much work into the Anki deck and notes, I was able to score a high grade on the exam and ended with an A in the class. I'm selling this bundle for $20. Text me if you're interested @ **********!

Fall 2023 - Wong was a great lecturer and always ended class early (albeit it was because he spoke really fast). He explains content well and it is clear he loves the material he teaches. The content was interested, and exams were 30 question MCQ (3 exams, noncumulative). Light workload, but you have to study for exams since they make up the majority of your grade. Also, this professor lies on the liberal end of politics and its pretty clear through the way he teaches. His bias never caused a problem in terms of teaching clarity, but just mentioning it for those of you who want to know about style of teaching/ bias. I am selling my notes for this class, contact me at ********** if interested. I also sell notes for LS7C, LS7B, LS7A, Psych 118, Psych 115, Psych 110, Psych 120A, Psych 127A, and Psych 10.

Fall 2018 - Professor Wong lectures way too fast. He lectures on 2x speed. It was often hard to understand what he was trying to say. He is aware and told many times that his lectures are very unclear but still speeds through lecture slides. Exams were worded weirdly and tested on very small details from the slides. Memorize and learn the slides very well and you will be fine. Don't need the textbook. I depended on the TA for a lot of my understanding of the material.
