Stigler is a great professor! His lectures are very interesting as well as the material he teaches. You will learn a lot about the importance of education and how it is a cultural aspect of our world today. He gives pop quizzes throughout class to make sure you did your readings but they're really easy. You don't have to read everything to get a good score on the pop quizzes. Just skim through the reader and highlight the important points made by the authors/researchers. Your total grade is based on the pop quizzes and two papers. They are totally doable. I really enjoyed this class and I got an A. It's not difficult.

Cool Professor. Genuinely listens and interacts with the class. knowledgeable, passionate. gradings are based on pop up quizzes(almost weekly)and 2 papers. its not difficult to get an A if you do the readings, which isnt excessively demanding. (average 20 pages per lesson).

Stigler is a pretty cool professor. 133F Psych and Edu was mainly quizzes on the reading, and there were two 3-5 pg papers - that's it. If you do the reading you'll be fine - I split it with a friend every week, then we would summarize it to each other right before class, and we both did really well. Lectures don't really matter to your grade, once you take the quiz, many people just leave. But I do think if you have the time and are interested, that you should stay and listen to his lectures - it's all very interesting and he has many quest speakers come in too. Overall a great class!

Psych and Education is the best class ever!!! I've never appreciated a professor more than Professor Stigler. He genuinely wants us to know as much as we can about the educational system so that we can improve it, just like he is as he teaches! No midterm, no finals, just a buttload of reading (90% of it was interesting, and all of it worthwhile) and 2 papers that require quite a bit of preparation and time. This class made my undergraduate experience complete. I love Jim. He's so chill, and knows SO much. TAKE PSYCH 133F WITH STIGLER!
