Fall 2024 - The class content was fairly easy. Lectures were often fairly engaging and the professor took her time explaining everything to ensure the class knew exactly what she was trying to convey. Professor de Vega is always happy to answer questions relating to the class during office hours, be it in regards to the exam or lecture content. There were only a small set of assignments, which were a take home midterm essay, take home final essay, and a candidate profile. Not sure if the future assignments will be take home, nor if there will be a candidate profile since there are no elections anytime soon. Would absolutely take the course with the same professor though.

Spring 2024 - I didn’t really love this class or the teaching style of the professor. Every lecture was just her talking next to slides with no engagement from the class - she goes really fast and doesn’t explain things very well. She was accommodating given what was going on during the quarter (made attendance optional and lowered some requirements) but I didn’t think she was very engaging as a lecturer. I wouldn’t take her again, but I would say she’s alright if you’re considering her class.
