Professor McLean is one of the greatest professors out there. He breaks down Astronomy into simpler terms and his tests are not hard if you put in the effort to study. He's also helpful during office hours. If you can't make OH, e-mail is just as good. I e-mailed him on a Saturday night and when I checked my e-mail Sunday morning, there was his reply!! He rocks!!!!

I really enjoyed this professor. He's very approachable and understanding about students' needs. The 2 midterms and the final are worth 75% total,but he usually gives a comprehensive review. Higly recommended!!

One of the best at UCLA. ^^;; Although some aspects of Astro are a bit troublesome, Prof Mclean will get you through it He is there to help you understand the material and get the grade you deserve.

The only things that are a bit boring are the labs-- but hey you have oodles of Extra Credit if you mess up. It would help to make friends with lab partners though-- or enroll with friends-- it'll make your life that much happier.

Oh, he reuses questions from lectures, hw, and old midterms-- so just pay attention and you'll get an A!

Mclean has the most awesome accent ever...he sounds like shrek. I never thought I would be interested in Astronomy, but his lectures are so interesting. The labs are a little annoying but easy. This class is an easy A.

He's amazing! Best class at UCLA. Take McLean and if you are in the honors college, do an honors contract.

He's very organized which makes the class easier. All the notes were posted on the website. And he's genuinely interested in student learning. However, I think the material itself is kind of dull. I went to almost every class, and slept through quite a few of his powerpoint presentations. But other than that, this guy is really nice, he's not the type of teacher who's out there to make your life miserable. I highly recommend this class.

MCLEAN is awesome! I loved astro 3 with him. He broke the material down to make it very intersting and understandable. His accent alone made attending class a must. He really knows his stuff and he is very eager to share his knowledge with his students. Everyone should try and take a class with him. Astro 3 is an easy A.
