This is less an assessment of the class itself, and more an assessment of Professor Wint. I took this class in Spring of 2024, when the campus conflict over the topic of Israel-Palestine reached a new intensity and classes were moved online for a period. It was a highly stressful time for many students for a variety of reasons, and many of us were too mentally preoccupied with what was going on to fully engage. But Professor Wint was completely understanding and sympathetic to our situation. She struck a good balance between reducing the workload so that we could devote more time to ourselves while still giving us enough to remain involved and engaged with the class. None of my other professors were as responsive to the situation as Professor Wint, and it was clear that she cared far more for our wellbeing as students and understood that the circumstances were weighing on all of us heavily. It was unfortunate that we could not focus on the class as easily, but Wint made the situation a lot less difficult.
