Honestly I was not a fan of this class or this professor. If you're a nursing major, you have to take this course so it's inevitable. She is extremely unclear in her directions and I found her to be quite rude. I turned in an essay which I don't think she even bothered to fully read. I can't say office hours provided any extra help. The class is simply disorganized and quite pointless. Everything you needed to know about nursing ethics was thoroughly covered in N10. The only reason I received an A- in the class was because she was very unclear and constantly changed her mind about her assignments. PRAY THAT THEY CHANGE UP THE PROFESSOR FOR THIS COURSE.
Professor Pieters was a great professor. At the beginning of the quarter, I didn't think I'd like the class much, but as time went on, I realized I was learning a lot about myself (my time management, stress factors, how I handle conflict, etc.). If you put effort into your essays, you should be fine.
There are two essays (30%), participation (10%), portfolio (25%), and final paper (35%). I got an A+ in the class :)
