I really enjoyed class with Bryant. He took a topic I was iffy about (evolution of interpersonal communication) and made every lecture unique and engaging. I enjoyed going to his lectures every time because he was not only clear in the information, but super helpful and a great speaker. He knows his shit, and you read a few of his own papers.
Two tests (midterm/final) and a big ol literature review paper. Would recommend taking 150 first, but I did not come in with 150 and still got an A in the class with a bit of guidance on my paper.
Hyped to be in his COMM100 class Winter 15, because I really did enjoy my time with him.
I LOVE BRYANT. He is probably the best professor I've ever had. He makes the material so interesting that I learn 80% of everything just from hearing him. I didn't have to spend too much time studying because I was genuinely intrigued by his material.
He is very upfront about what he wants, and the tests are SO easy if you go to lecture. I only read the readings that I needed more clarification on for certain subjects. I got a 104 on my midterm if that tells you anything...
The tests are just a bunch of short and long essay questions, but obviously on the big ideas from lecture.
Seriously take Bryant any time you can. Super fun and not that hard. I got an A and don't feel like I put that much effort.
The essay was kind of annoying because it was so long and required so many different sources, but you don't even have to have an argument.
I enjoyed the topics discussed in this class. He does lecture style which I enjoy. He takes interest in the subject and it shows. As long as you do the research paper and use you notes as study guides for the tests you will do fine.
Professor Bryant is the BEST communications professor I have had thus far. I took evolution of interpersonal communication with him and learned so much. It was not a bullshit class, but one where you actually need to go to class. And trust me going to class is not a chore with him, but actually very rewarding and fun. Also, he is very helpful during office hours and just a really chill professor in general. He adds a touch of humor during his lectures which makes things so much more pleasant than other professors who take themselves way too seriously. It is evident that he has a passion for the material he teaches and really tries to clarify all students' questions. Definitely take this course!
I love prof Bryant! He really loves to teach and you can feel his interest and passion when he lectures. I was not interested in the topic at all before i took his class and he actually made it interesting enough for me to not fall asleep. He always emails back in a timely manner and is really approachable. Just an overall good teacher and if you pay attention in class and understand the concepts you will get a good grade in the class.
