I took this class fall 2018. If you go to class, you’ll have no problem for the tests. There are 2 exams worth 30% each and a final 8-page paper worth 40%. The TA gave us a study guide for the exams, but truthfully they weren’t that helpful and a lot of the stuff she didn’t put on the study guide was tested. She’s a pretty lenient grader though and always available to meet or chat (she’s the only TA I’ve ever had who prefers text). Bryant is a funny and knowledgeable professor but his slides are often way more wordy and confusing than the concepts, so make sure to go to class to get clarification. Overall it’s a good class and I’d take it again.
I’m selling my course reader for $45. It’s in like new condition. Text me at ********** if interested!
Bryant is a chill professor. His class was a tougher communications class but definitely very doable. Readings are very scientific but I only skimmed them. I got a 90 on the midterm, don't know what I got on the final exam or final paper but it had to have been As since I got an A in the course so it wasn't too difficult.
I AM SELLING THE COURSE READER. CHEAP price. text me for details **********
Professor Bryant is super smart and hilarious, but if you don't have a mind for science like me, his classes are TOUGH! By far the hardest teacher I've encountered in Comm Studies. He makes some of the information easy to understand, but he uses many words common in science that I wasn't well versed on, so it could be hard to follow his lectures. The readings are the worst! For his exams you need to memorize everything.
Bryant is a really chill professor and his TA is amazing too. I really enjoyed his class because he made it really interesting with fun videos and examples. The only thing I would say is that he expects you to understand his scientific language which is sometimes difficult to comprehend but you can always ask his TA to clarify for you. There is one midterm and one final exam and then a final paper. Most students freaked out after the first exam but then find out they did better than they thought they did. But the first exam was kinda difficult. It is hard material, that is for sure. But both he and his TA help a lot and they are two really funny and chill guys. I studied a couple days before the tests and ended up with an A, but you should really understand the experiments and everything he goes over in class. I got a 92% on the first exam and I feel like I actually did worse on the second exam. Oh and you do not need to read the course reader material thoroughly to get an A.
I loved this class and Bryant! He makes class really fun and made me genuinely interested in the subject matter. His classes are clear and I was honestly a little bummed every time class was over (I know that sounds cheesy but hey, it's true!) There's a midterm, final, and one 8 page paper which can be on almost any topic within the realm of the class. I would absolutely take any other class Bryant teaches.
I've taken 120 and 118 and can say that I love Bryant's classes. Midterm, Final, 8 page Paper. The tests are fair and the paper can basically be about anything you are interested in. Bryant is funny, smart, entertaining and cool. I would definitely reccomend taking his classes. I would want to take any class he offers!
