******THIS IS A REVIEW FOR LS2*******
I took this course with Cooper and Fain. Fain's portion of the class was by far the more manageable portion. Fain is a decent professor. He explains the material as best as he can, however he always has his anecdotes. While these were entertaining and generally relevant, they did end up taking a good chunk of class time. His tests are relatively fair. He doesn't do trick questions, but there is always that infamous option E that comes with each multiple choice questions. Essay questions are also included in the midterm but not the final. He tests primarily from his lectures and uses the book only for supplemental self-learning (AKA no need).
Overall, I really enjoyed Fain's portion of the class simply due to his teaching. He is not as bad as these other reviews make him sound. His class is difficult, but what LS isn't difficult? He's a fair test giver, and the curve will always work in your favor.
Avoid Fain for LS2. He is a good lecturer but his midterm and final was ridiculous. His exams aren't only what is on the slides for his power points but his questions require the most intricate details he barely went over in class. He's really nice in lecture- but one-on-one in person he's can be a jerk. Other than that, good luck!
