Difficulty: 4/5 (with 5 being easiest)
Workload: 5/5 (with 5 being lightest)
Clarity/Helpfulness: 4.5/5 (with 5 being best)

Pretty good class. Klein is really good at giving engaging lectures with real world examples. The lectures are pretty straightforward, as is the course reader. There is no homework, although doing the recommended homework may help you prepare for exams, since there aren't a lot of preparation materials. Klein responds quickly to emails if you need help.

As long as you religiously study his lectures/notes and understand the logic behind every concept he goes over (and apply it), you will do well in this class. Especially if it's online, this is not a tough class at all.

I took this class asynchronous, so I can't speak for any other version of the class, however, if you can take this class with Klein asynchronous I highly recommend it. His lectures are short and concise, he never gives unnecessary information, and he only tests you on things he talks about in class and are in the course reader. There were only two grades, Midterm (40%) and Final (60%), but as long as you study two or three days before the test this class is very very manageable. Highly recommend.

This class was asynchronous and unfortunately, the professor wasn't that accessible. In the syllabus, professor Klein listed what videos we needed to watch each week in order to keep up with the material. The homework assigned from the textbook (it was not checked) was different from the midterm and prior to the exam, we were given 1 practice midterm with 20 questions (10 of which were on material we hadn't learned yet). You're graded based on one midterm (40%) and one final (60%) so there is little room for error. It's hard to feel prepared going into these exams without a study guide, practice problems, or homework questions similar to what we'd be solving on the exams. The exams were pretty difficult and it was somewhat hard taking notes from the lecture videos when most of the material was taught aloud instead of written. The workload was manageable, it was just the exams and way the material was taught that was more challenging.

Professor Klein cares his students in general. He responded students email really fast, even in the evening or weekend.

This class has no HW, exams gave 24 hours window to finish. Exam questions were short and the answers were all on the course reader. There was no surprise because he only tested what he covered on the video lectures. Having enough time for exams is the best. On the top of that, he gave us extra credit for participation of evaluation instructors.

His lectures are up to date. He is very knowledge and always willing to share. His lectures were really focus and funny. He gave background stories to teach the concept. Now I am moving forward to higher level classes but I still remember what we learned. He is one of the best professors in UCLA.

I took this class asynchronous, so I can't speak for any other version of the class, however, if you can take this class with Klein asynchronous I highly recommend it.
