I’ve never felt so comfortable after immigrating from Kenya to study accounting in the USA. Mr. Klein displayed an advanced etiquette to us students who were new to the USA. The material was rigorous as often the case with accounting but presented cohesively.
What a joke. Sure, Klein is a smart guy, may be even funny at times. But here is the bottom line. Its not a matter of different "style" of teaching or that he gives it to you like it is in the "real world". That is all non-sense coming from people unable to look directly at the core of the issues.
Klein can not or will not teach, period. His lectures are made up of random useless hypothetical examples that do not serve any purpose beyond filling up his required lecture time so that he can get his paychecks. If you study by yourself, by reading the book or CPA Review books/problems, you may do fine depending on how lucky you are on test day and how effectively you learn the materials by yourself.
He admitted himself that he is an attorney on semi-retirement,i.e. teaching is a B.S. side job for him and doesn't really concern him a whole lot. Which is not a desirable scenario for the student who wants to learn and get a good grade.
If you have a choice, I would definitely avoid him. If not, don't fool yourself that you can be different, or that you will do well regardless of all the smart and hard-working students who have failed before you. If you take him, please do your outside studying and watch out on your midterm and final.
This class was absolutely dreadful. He's extremely lazy and does not care about his students. All we do is go over case problems in class, but how can we do them if he doesn't teach us the basics of it first? Then, on the test, that's another story! It looks completely foreign to what we've been "learning" in class. Klein is really condescending and apathetic toward his student. I'm a good student and I get good grades, but he structures his class such that it is way beyond unreasonable.
