Quarter: Winter 2025

Hands down the best class I've taken at UCLA. Ariel is the coolest professor and cares so much about student learning. I also have a big interest in sports which definitely helped too. Ariel did such a great job in hitting both Gender and Disability Studies in the realm of sports. The syllabus can be overwhelming initially because there are assignments due pretty much every class but they are super chill. There are four movies to watch throughout the quarter and you write a short reflection about them. Final grades revolve around the individual project completed throughout the quarter. You observe the ways gender and disability act within sports on campus and put together a final project about your observations. You discuss your findings with a partner for a weekly reflection and find 10 academic sources to assist you. It is so chill and I would highly highly recommend this class. It is the best!
