FRANK is A BABY protect him at all costs. I actually had him for LS7B (not on the drop down menu) and I enjoyed the portion of the class that he taught (genetics). He always explained the clicker questions and made sure to answer all questions students had. For his tests, make sure to thoroughly look at the practice exam questions on LaunchPad.
Cons: stutters, sometimes talks before he thinks so he'll answer questions students have incorrectly then backtrack making things confusing, when he taught the class it was alongside 2 other professors who are very nice but the different teaching styles threw me off
Pros: incredibly nice man, answers questions anyone has in class, curves the class so average is a B, his energy keeps things lively, midterms well reflected by study guides, forums are a god send
Overall a really good professor even though I'm not into genetics. I put in minimal effort the first exam (which reflected when the class average was a high B and I got a C). I worked harder to make it up for the next exam (got a low A, average was a C which was reasonable since as the quarter continued the material got more difficult). and the final I got a high D. In the end with good participation and my subpar quiz scores I still got curved up to a B (yay!)
One negative: sometimes during lectures people won't shut the hell up (because he encourages discussion) and will continue to chatter about their lives and criticize everything just because they're assholes. On days like this I just went home and didn't even bother with these people. If you hate sitting in lecture trying to actually learn but the people next to you just talk the whole time then this might be a bit of an annoying class for you, but bearable.
