Took Play and Entertainment thinking that based off the course description it would be interesting and kinda fun. Wasn't really the case.
Struggled to build up the will to go to class. Most people lost that battle as classes were at maybe 25% attendance for most lectures. Although Steen really cares about what he is teaching, he really had trouble connecting me and getting him to focus. Very hard to pay attention to as he rambles on about ideas that are not very concrete and often seem irreverent in power point slides. Sometimes he will mix it up and do activities like panel discussion or random "make a board game" day.
I found it hard to take an interest in the material and lecture, but Steen is very nice. Docile but energetic. Easy homework assignments (dream journals, lol?) a research paper which allows you a lot of freedom, and midterm/final. Based on my below average midterm grade I was presently surprised at the A I got in the class.
Prof Steen, although a bit spacey at times, was a great professor. He really knew his material, and made it very interesting for the students. He is very nice and helpful to all his students and goes out of his way to be available.
