This is probably my favorite course I've taken at UCLA so far, and Professor Martelli is absolutely amazing! I had never taken a Classics course before, but by the end of the quarter I felt that I had a relatively solid understanding of a topic that had previously intimidated me. The readings were intense in terms of density but were also endlessly fascinating. Assignments were well managed and returned with thoughtful comments and appropriate grades. I loved that Professor Martelli offered us opportunities to utilize BruinLearn for discussion and assignment submission and I wish that more professors incorporated these tools. Taking Classics 163 was a fantastic experience and I wish that I could take this class again!
