Fall 2023 - I was speaking with my roommate last night about finals and this class and she asked me to repeat the class' name to her. Upon repeating the title she said "I know that this has been your least stressful class this quarter because I have not heard about it until right now." Which, I believe is the best way to sum up this class. I'll be frank, as an anthro major, I really don't like archaeology. But I think that Dr. Neubauer knows that a lot of people share that same sentiment, and so she tries to make it as engaging and interesting as possible without it all being about digging up bones. Her exams and assignments are all very fair and easy as long as you're keeping up with readings and attending lecture. She comes into class everyday well-dressed and ready to present. Her lectures are well-organized and easy to follow along. She is funny, engaging, and really wants to share her passion for decolonization in academia. I firmly believe that even if I was not an anthro student, this class would have made me want to switch majors. Thanks to Dr. Neubauer for being responsive, kind, fair, knowledgable, and for slaying every single day.
