Coroniti is the cutest professor I've come across! He's like a funny grandfather.

His teaching style is very organized. He doesn't use notes or anything while teaching, so he must really know the material. Most of the time he will be deriving equations but he also works out a few examples. It really helped me to record his lectures and review them afterward, since he doesn't podcast them. Coroniti also gives you the questions that will be on the exam, so it's impossible to not do well unless if you don't go to class!

6A and 6B: Coroniti is a good professor. His lectures are concise and clear. He doesn't do many experiments, but you don't learn from experiments. Make sure to do the homework problems because the tests are based on specific homework problems. He will actually give you the exact problems that he bases the test on. Also, go over your notes and rewrite them because that helps you to learn the material. Also read the book because it will help you get a general understanding of the course. I ended up getting a B in both classes, but hey, I'm not good at physics and I tried. Not an easy A!

I'm currently taking is 8am Physics 6b class....and the material is way over my head.
BE ATTENTIVE during lecture so you know what you're doing when you're writing your notes and it would definitely help to study the material beforehand b/c he just "talks" instead of "lectures"

Dr. Coroniti seems like a nice guy, especially in Astro classes. Physics is a whole other story

If you are good at math AND have taken Math 31A and 31B (and maybe 32A) AND are good at calculus, you will kill the average in his 6 series classes by a lot. I've seen a 99% with a 40% average b/c my friend was a math minor.

If you are not all of the above (ie if you are in math 3 series or don't like math that much) for the love of God please don't take a physics 6 series class with him. You will only help contribute to his 40% averages by getting a 20%.

So unless AP Calc was a breeze, or 31B was a filler class for you, DO NOT TAKE 6 SERIES WITH HIM!!!

Physics is hard...there is no easy way out..i struggled in 6B but coroniti was worth it..

Lectures: he takes his time to explain everything, and encourages people to ask questions. At the begining of the 1/4 you'll feel lost because his lectures are mathmatically conceptual (no #'s) but you will get use to it..so don't worry if you walk out of lecture like "what the F*** was that".

Homework: not much is assigned, he is lenient on the due dates.

EXAMS: these can be difficult only because they are conceptual, no numbers. however if you focus on your notes and understand them you'll be fine. the problems on the 2nd midterm are exactly the ones you do in class. before the exam he explains what will be on it question by question so there is no suprise.

Corontiti: is one of the nicest human beings on earth. he will never make you feel small so don't be intimidated...he knows physics is difficult and understands his student's concerns. he might answer general questoins vaguely so be specific with your questions.

I thought Coroniti was a good professor and lecturer. At first though (around the first midterm), I could not stand his conceptual style of teaching. However, once I started to figure out his teaching style I found him to be an effective professor. His midterms are straightforward; however, straightforward does not necessarily mean that they were easy (with averages in the 40's). However, he does tell you the breakdown of each exam. Additionally, his exams ask you to prove that a certain system will be equal to a certain equation. With a little knowledge and a little mathematical skill, you can usually come up with a decent answer. If you are taking Physics 6 series with Coroniti, I would recommend obtaining a copy of the book used in the 1 series (it was much more compatible with the class than Serway).
