Professor Hudson is a great Professor and really tries to give an intuitive approach to Quantum Computation. Quantum Mechanics as a background is required.

Dr. Hudson is a good professor. He is an experimental physicist, and is perfect for a class like Physics 117. Grading was nice for this class. (Although I cannot comment on how he grades lecture classes).

This class is a big time commitment!! You are mostly on your own to complete your project and you can't really expect a lot of help from Hudson. That said, it was incredibly rewarding and well worth the effort. You get to pick any project you want (that is somehow related to physics) and design and build it all on your own. If you plan on doing experiment then definitely consider this class.

Professor Hudson was a great professor, engaging lectures! The material is quite dense and so I got lost quite often. Go to office hours if you can, he will be there to answer any questions you have and clearly wants to help his students. I was practically in danger of failing, I have the worst test anxiety imaginable and scored far below average on the midterm and two quizzes (which were supposed to be easy and based on the homework which are problems from the textbook), but he reached out to my research advisor who was able to talk me through some options to help me. He was very understanding and accommodating and with his help I was actually able to perform well on the final and not fail. overall he's a good professor and I would take him again.
