Great professor. She actually cares about her students, and lets them learn at there own pace. She doesnt force the information so it is a very enjoyable class. The workload for the class is almost non-existant. She is very understanding. Overall anybody that can take a class for her should, because you will not regret it.
Professor Marchant is one of those professors you hope to have at some point while at UCLA. She is enthusiastic about what she teaches, and the subject matter is extremely interesting. The class is easy, as long as you actually attend every day, because participation is 30% of the grade. The readings for the class were actually interesting! There is just one 10 page paper, which you spend the whole quarter researching. By the time you sit down to write it, it is practically written already! If you have the opportunity to take this class, DO IT. You definitely won't regret it.
She is so cool! This class is awesome: very interesting, and no tests! We've already seen three movies, but they're not the kind of movies that the professor shows just to fill up time; they're very interesting and pertinent. The readings can sometimes be a bit tedious, and you do have to turn something in every day, but the no tests factor is really great, as you can learn without having to stress about cramming. She's really approachable outside of class, as well, and she really wants to make your experience better. Take this class if you can :-)
