I took this class in Spring 2020, so with COVID & online learning. The class had no homework: just two midterms and a final, all multiple choice.
The pros: I think the class is generally not very hard, and there isn't much of a workload. As I said, no homework, and the content itself is not very hard (the models are still quite simple). Conveniently, all of the course content is in a set of slides that she takes from the textbook company, so you probably don't need the textbook.
That being said, I don't think Elham is a great prof: while she may be knowledgeable about the topic, I don't think she's a great lecturer - she usually reads off of her pre-set slides, but somehow makes them more confusing. Also, I think the questions in the midterms/final are occasionally confusing, especially as they aren't worded particularly well.
Wouldn't strongly recommend you take this class with her, but it wasn't the worst experience in the world. Definitely made me a bit less interested in macro.
Saeidinezhad is no longer teaching at UCLA so you don't have to worry about her. This was during the COVID-19 time period and she did not know how to adjust at all. Her lectures were her essentially reading the textbook verbatim. I did not spend any time on this class because how unmotivating it was and rather read the textbook. However, there were a couple clutch TAs that were very willing to help out which made it somewhat bearable. All her lectures were prerecorded so we never actually saw her. The exams had multiple mistakes and even the solution manual contradicted other things that were on the practice exam.
Her midterms were 30 MCQ and her final was 100 MCQ and was easy enough.
Her grading cutoffs were easy 95+ = A+ and 91+ = A.
If she returns back to UCLA, I would strongly recommend not taking her (though you will get an easy A)
