Don't go to lecture. If you do, you'll fall asleep. All you really have to do is stay at home and do problems in the book. Buy the student answer guide to the book and you're golden. Her tests are fairly challenging, but I never went to class after the first week & studied the stuff on my own..got an A-. Wouldn't take her again but for those of you that will, beware you're gonna have to learn on your own.

Take this if you have the time to take an independent study course. I tried to go to class, but would end up sleeping, since she just basically read the notes she put online.

My problem was I completely bombed the midterm, but I must have done really well on the final, even though I left one page blank. (There was no curve, and I was going into the final with an F)

I took AP Stats and did well on the AP test in high school (which for some reason does not get you out of this class), so I had learned basically all the material taught in the class before. Well, I would go to lecture, and topics that made complete sense to me two years ago would seem like the most confusing thing ever. She was by far the worst lecturer I have encountered at UCLA and she was always late to class. A very small percentage of the class actually went and stayed awake, and although I went to class every time, I would often get too frustrated and leave early. The final was very long, and the class was not curved. Although I ended up with an A, it was only because I had already taken statistics and I re-learned the material on my own. I can't imagin how difficult the class taught by her would be for someone who had never taken statistics before.

If you have to take econ 41 with her, you really should go down to the Undergraduate Research Center and petition to have your four units count as an independent reseach project, because Professor Kyriazidou obviously didn't get the memo:

"We, the Regents of UCLA, really hate to break this to you, but unfortunately you will have to teach undergraduates from time to time. Others have noticed that this responsibility can result in what one professor termed 'work.' We sincerely regret the inconvience this 'work' may cause to your regurarly scheduled life."

I have never in my life reviewed a course on Bruinwalk, but then again, I have never taken a course this bad at UCLA before. The professor makes no pretense of caring about the material, let alone caring about teaching what she obviously regards as an inconsequential lower division course wasting her time. She barely speaks English, the TA's speak no English, there's no curve, and I was one of the only "first-timers" in my section---for most others it was the second or third time around in this horrible excuse for a class.

Econ 41 or better know as stats for economists was not as hard as it sounds. 25% homework 25% midterm and 50% final. However, the test are not curved so they seem to be relatively easy if you know how to use the formulas. You able to use all the formulas and tables on both tests too. In regards to her lectures, absolutely boring. She reads from her online lectures and actually makes it sounds a lot harder then it really it. I learned everything from the book. If you need to take Econ 41 i recommend it with her because in comparison to other econ classes this one is not bad at all.
