Avoid this man like the plague. He makes learning about the law so painfully difficult. He teaches us like we are 3L law students at Harvard. When you say you don't understand, he repeats his useless jargon and expects that you understand. Everybody got screwed over in the final. Unless you want constant stress about your grade and want to be discouraged from going to law school, do not take this class.
I strongly recommend AGAINST taking this professor by all means. Incredibly rude and inconsistent regarding grading. Constant confusion regarding directions for assignments. Horrible professor.
Super interesting class — I found it very useful and it helped shaped my outlook on entrepreneurship, business law, and law school.
Coach is definitely a tough-love professor, so be prepared to do the work and be ready to answer in class if called on.
There are weekly readings and a few case assignments (some individual, some group) and a group project.
The midterm was super easy, the final was incredibly difficult, but he rounds you up to the highest possible grade so I wouldn't worry about grades in this class. Just take it if you're interested in it.
He also brings in cool guest speakers that are awesome to network with.
Make sure to communicate with the TA on what he's looking for in the assignments because I believe the TA does most of the grading here, not the professor.
Coach is one of the best professors that I've had at UCLA. He is very intelligent, encouraging, and really cares about every student's success in the course and in life. His class is long, but the interactiveness and variety of class activities he has planned make it go by fast. I would definitely recommend taking a class with coach weinhaus!!!
