If you aren't aware, Symphonic Band is a casual once-a-week for 2 hours symphonic band intended for non-music majors (there are usually no music majors in the class) who want to continue symphonic band from high school casually in college - there aren't any outside-of-class requirements other than practicing your part and listening to the music (and despite the class notes, there are NO auditions for this class for the 3 quarters I've taken it), and isn't intended to be adding to your course load but purely for fun - literally no one ever gets below an A as the point is to enjoy playing music, not getting graded, and if you do need to miss part of the class or like one week due to conflicts, they are very understanding. The band is always looking for more players (especially percussion), so if you are curious, you should join! Some instruments are available to borrow as well if you don't have your own.

Dr, Milburn is amazing - he is very kind and understanding, and really cares about making sure the band sounds top notch while also teaching everyone how to be better musicians. He's such an amazing band director who is extremely experienced and knowledgable, though he is an interim band director so probably won't be returning as director of this band after the 24-25 school year.
