Brown is a decent professor. He is unorganized and talks way too fast, but he's a nice guy, and it didn't seem like he was out to get you. His tests are fair, they require a thorough reading of the book, review of the practice probs he posts, and remembering tidbits from lecture. There aren't any curveballs like other Econ classes. If you put in enough time to study you should do fine. For the final, review the older material well. Its divided into equal thirds from the class, not weighted at all toward stuff not tested on. Expect to see repeated probs from the MTs. If you don't have patience, I wouldn't recommend this class, but if you're tired of getting screwed over by some of these Econ professors and their unfair tests, this would be a good class for you.

By far the worst professor I have ever ever ever taken. I have never seen a more poorly organized presentation of material in my life. His lectures consist of reading the power points (which he got from the book) and talking about random bits of worthless information. On top of that, half the time he doesn't know how to interpret the graphs. Sometimes he'll stop class just so he can figure out what a slide is saying. Then he'll give test questions on things to see if you went to class, things that he talked about for less than 15 seconds. Even if you went to class (which I did), you wouldn't know that you would have to remember his stupid comments. He is more concerned with cheating than with teaching. He never goes over test questions before or after tests, his practice problem answers for the midterms are sloppy and illegible, and he is a scatter brain. I'm sure he's a genius but he's a terrible teacher. I enjoy economics, and I'd really like to learn about it, but its not possible to learn anything with him, no matter what grade you get.
