Sure.... he's easy..... but he grades based on a bell curve... yeah a BELL CURVE you idiots.
the mean for the the first exam was 85... I got 90
the mean for the second midterm was 90.... I got 90
the final was 87.... i got 84.....
B- in the class. I HATE BELL CURVES.
completely agree with the post below me.
A very, very, VERY small number of people who are posting reviews a YEAR after they took the class are legit. Who the **** decides to review their 6c professor from last year? nobody, that's who.
anyone defending those suspicious comments are either a) extremely gullible or b) the people who posted them originally
i'll reiterate: it is NOT A COINCIDENCE that Schriver's only negative review are coming the week of class sign-ups.
I don't know what kind of joke this is, but when I took Schriver he was not this easy... David was one tricky mofo and by far the worst professor I had at UCLA... Ended up with a B+... my only B in my pre reqs so far....
lol @ the dipsh!t who said Schriver doesn't teach well at all and that, if you take him for 6c, you won't be prepared for the MCAT. LOL...i hope nobody is stupid enough to fall for your tricks, you competitive assmuncher. physics on the MCAT is cake compared to anything you'll ever take in a college level class. if you take 6c with even the shittiest possible UCLA professor, you'd still be in okay shape for the MCAT.
Is that guy Swartwood? "mellow" haha! anyway John did talk about schriver getting harder because of all the reviews on bruinwalk.... just to let everyone know...
"UCLA kids aren't even that smart. Second rate students that got rejected from Stanford and CAL. Always trying to find easy professors! hah! you guys are a joke!!!!!!!! "
lol why are you here then buddy?
One thing about those negative reviews that make them really skeptical is that the reviewers are offering Niemann and Gutperle as alternatives. What a coincidence? Both of them are teaching for the next quarter.
David Schriver must be some kind of sorcerer. With my mediocre midterm scores (MT1=85, avg=~88; MT2=84, avg=~85?) and after missing a week's worth of homework completely, I was fully prepared to accept a B/B-. Yet somehow this professor/enchanter transfigured my grade into an A!!!!!!!
mind=BLOWN
I took Physics 6C with Professor Schriver, and here's my honest opinion and some facts.
- Everyone can get an A. The curve will never hurt you.
- Go to the test bank. His midterms are pretty much exactly alike, quarter from quarter, so it's a guaranteed A. He may throw in one different question though.
- There is weekly homework on MasteringPhysics.
- He's super chill, he's straight forward, extremely easy to understand, and makes everything simple.
- Do the homework. Know the material. The midterms and final are the same level as homework type questions.
Drawback:
- he's not very authoritative, so sometimes it gets pretty loud. i dunno, it annoys me.
Take him. Do the work. Get an A. Be happy.
This class was pretty easy. Everyone knows it. I got 100 on both of my midterms with 2 days of studying before each one.
-Class is pointless because he just reviews equations with you. I never went and just learned how to do the homework to get an A+.
-Discussion is even more pointless, even though Julio was a homie.
-Review sessions before the test are crucial. Just go and you'll ace the test.
I ended up getting an A+ in the class. Take him.
