Professor Gjertson was a fantastic biostatistics professor who understood what it means to be a student and the absurdity of the concept of grades. He assigned "deadlines" to the homework and lab assignments, but it was only as a way to encourage completing these assignments without waiting until the end. If you turned in things after the deadline, it was not a problem. The midterm was open book, laptop, note, everything except the internet to chat with someone else during the exam. He provided practice exams for the midterm and the final, which were a very good representation of the exams themselves. I enjoyed the class and never stressed about it. I would recommend this with this prof if you are thinking about it!
