ASTRO 5:
This class was a really easy GE. My TA, Josh pretty much gave us all the answers before the midterms. The professor also gives a list of topics that will be on the midterms/finals in the lecture before exams. Exams are all multiple choice and they're pretty straightforward; all the material is covered in lecture. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK.
ASTRO 5
I read on BruinWalk that this was an easy class. DEFINITELY NOT. Cline tests on minutiae and is very unforgiving if you go to talk to him about raising your grade. The only way he will give you an extra credit assignment is if you're at a risk of failing and you go to talk to him personally.
Cline knows a lot about his topic, but he has very little communication ability and you have to sit at the front of the room in order to be able to see the entire overhead projection - which he'll only leave up for about 5 seconds anyway.
Josh, the TA (yes, the only TA) was knowledgeable, but be sure to get to know him because he has a surprisingly large amount of control over your final grade. Why? Because Cline is not really involved in his grading process.
AWFUL class. Definitely don't recommend it at all.
ASTRO 5:
Easy class. Reviewed all my notes the night before the exam, not intensely either, and I was good to go. The topic was interesting, tests were fair, I think a lot of people found it easy as well. Discussion sections (with Julia) helped too. I can't figure out whether attendance to them were mandatory but I'm under the impression that they were anyway. I'm terrible at science, mediocre at memorization, but this class made sense and I still got an A.
