Lectures were extremely boring. I stopped going after week 3. He reads word for word from his powerpoints. The powerpoints as well as audio recordings are posted online so I skipped lecture and read them at home. Course reader ($35) was pretty useless but the syllabus is in it (split the cost of the book with someone). Due dates were changed for the assignments. 3 paper assignments (2 of them require going out to see murals and outdoor sculptures) and a final. Got an A-. Overall, not to difficult of a class. He's a nice guy but his class is just so boring.

great guy. flexible with paper dates (no midterm in exchange for an extra paper or so). does what he can to make lecture topics interesting. course reader is hte only book required, but he posts everything online!

Not a difficult class at all. The readings were extremely dry so I didn't really make it through them, but I did get A's on all the papers. The final was fairly tedious (just tons of writing), but if you go to class and listen to his lectures, you'll get an A. Also, strange mix of undergrad and grad students. Only difference? Grad students have to write like two more papers than everyone else.
As a professor, David Scott is a friendly guy with great wit and dry British humor. On the downside, he's not really accessible, but you'll manage without asking for his help.
