Scott teaches one of the most interesting and in my mind, important classes at UCLA for material culture preservation-- if only he was more organized! It was impossible to know where we were, and the reader was just a jumble of articles... I didn't know what we were supposed to be reading half the time. There are three or four papers and then a final-- I got A+ on all my papers but an A- in the class. Who knows. I would recommend him, but try your best to pay attention in class to the broader themes.
