Ackerberg:
One of the nicest professors out there. He is kind, patient, and very willing to help students. You know how other professors don't have extra office hours during exams or even worse, make you wait until the next quarter before you can speak to them after you take the final? Ackerberg offered himself to special appointment hours after the final if students wanted to see him about their Business Plan. He even offered to discuss it with more detail if students were actually thinking about executing their business plan in real life. He's an awesome dude! He demonstrates extreme knowledge in the material and can teach it well.
Lectures:
He posts the notes online that has everything he says. He even has lines on the side so you can take extra notes. They are organized and flow very well.
Exams:
Extremely fair and straight forward. Everything is from the lecture notes and a few things, if any, are from lecture. The math portion of the exam is very straight forward if you study. In both the midterm and the final, there was 1 extra credit problem for each. They are not hard either. They are "harder," but very doable. I'm not saying that you'll definitely get it right though, it really depends on what you got.
Office Hours:
Awesome! Willing to help with any questions.
Homework: 2 problem sets (only 1 for us because we ran out of time). These are harder questions than the midterm, but help you understand the material. They are graded on a "check" or "check +" (possibly "check -") manner. The Business Plan is a fun assignment as well and it's not too hard. He gives you the questions to answer for the plan. He grades based on how well you thought about his questions in regards to your plan as opposed to whether or not your plan will actually generate profit in a real business setting.
My grades (Because I do believe giving the grade out helps the post):
Problem Set 1 - ? (Most like check + because I got it all right after he gave out the answers)
Midterm - 93/100
Business Plan - ? (unknown right now)
Final - ? (unknown right now, but I felt pretty good coming out of it. It was straight forward!)
