History 142A is an excellent class with an excellent professor. We had an in-class midterm consisting of 3 IDs and 1 essay and an in-class final consisting 5 IDs and 2 essays. Both were based on lectures and readings and the questions were given out a week in advance. There were no papers or quizzes. The lectures were compelling while the readings were light. The lecture notes were available at the bookstore! This class was GREAT (and easy) and I highly recommend Dr. SarDesai. His TAs change from quarter to quarter and they only grade the IDs so that should not be a consideration. SarDesai grades all the essays and is very generous. I love him and wish I could take more of his classes because he has such dedication and wisdom.

Professor SarDesai is very nice as both a professor and a person, I think. I'd say his class is easy to get an A if you attend every lecture and read the textbook, as everyone here says. In my case, I missed a couple of lectures and for that reason I didn't get the grade I wanted in my midterm.... (regret comes too late :0)

The reader was a bit annoying today at the final exam, but I think he was as nice as the professor.

Overall, great class with a great prof!
