If you want an easy A, take psych 10 with Zaidel. I literally read the 2 chapters the night before every quiz on Friday, and then i'd get 100% or near it on every quiz. she has really good extra credit policy. Her lectures are kind of dry. Once in a while she'll have a cool movie, but honestly, if you want to retain the information and actually learn something, i'd take it with anotehr professor just becuase there is no midterm or final and teh quizes are so basic. She doesn't cahllenge you and i feel like i could've never gone to lecture , read teh book and shown up for the quizes (which i'm sure is what 1/2 the class did) and still get 100% in the class, NO JOKE. in lecture she follows teh book strictly. check the website often if you take her though she gives hints.

Zaidel is amazing!! The first day she's tries to be intimidating to make sure you take her class somewhat seriously. But how amazing is a class that has NO midterm and NO final!! just 8 simple multiple choice quizzes every friday on 2 chapters that literally take like 25mins- it's totally worth it to have a class on friday! There's also some experiments you have to do, but they're easy and sometimes fun...I recommend going to the lectures cuz it helps you understand the material and they're pretty intersting. This is definately the easiest GE i've taken and the one i liked the most. Zaidel has a wonderful sense of humor, seriously she's hilarious...so u want an easy A and a fun class by all means take this one!

This was such an awesome class! I thought Zaidel seemed kinda mean at first, because in the first lecture she REALLY stresses that you can't miss any of the weekly quizzes for ANY reason (sports event, family death, your own death, etc.), but she turned out to be really nice! Her class consist of 8 quizzes and some psych experiments. The quizzes are really easy, and if you just do the reading and review the night before, you'll do fine. A good strategy is too read the chapters ahead and on the night before the quiz, just read the summaries for the chapters and tables within the chapters. Also, there are some useful online quizzes that are on the book's website which i found very helpful to practice with. I used this strategy and I never missed a question on her quizzes. The psych experiments you have to do are pretty fun too. All in all, good class!

I love this woman. She is a great professor and the class is so easy. Ther'es 8 tests and no final, and they are all from the book. Although you don't need to go to lecture, as they're actually missing a lot of information from the book that will be quizzed, I always went because she is so funny and quirky and made everything she talked about memorable. Others have commented that she's not very good at taking questions or staying after class; its true she usually waves down people that raise their hand, but I've stayed behind with a couple of friends to ask her a question and she spent a good ten minutes talking to us. She's very friendly and gives "High Five!"s after every test. There's about six points of extra credit opportunity if you miss any questions, but as I said, the tests are pretty easy.
Definitely take this professor if you need psych 10. One hint: most tests consist of an unusual experiment or fact from the reading, and you'll usually need to know a lot of the details from it (even though it will only entail 1 or 2 points on the quiz.)

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST CLASS I'VE TAKEN ALL YEAR! Zaidel is hilarious and easy yet effective. She knows when she's mentally draining you, so she'll cut class short if she has to.

Professor Zaidel knows her stuff, but lectures do become tedious and long. I stopped going after the first week because the quiz material comes straight from the book. You do have to read the book, and that takes a few hours. Easy A.

This was the easiest class I have ever taken in high school or college. Ya, she's nice, but she's also very very monotone and boring.

Being a freshman with no idea what to major in, I decided to take Psych 10 with Zaidel in hopes that I would become interested in Psychology and decide to pursue it. Thankfully, I took her class and enjoyed it very much. Professor Zaidel comes off as really cruel and scary the first couple of lectures (to weed people out, I suppose), but later in the quarter, she transforms into a wonderfully friendly professor who occasionally gives out candy for those who stay after tests for the test feedback and gives "high fives" to those who did well on the tests.

Zaidel lectured pretty thoroughly on what was in the book, which, by the way, was a very interesting read. A few (not many) of her test questions come directly from lecture and are not in the book. She likes to show videos a low in lieu of lecturing and the videos are kind of outdated. Nonetheless, they're pretty informative and if you can stay awake, they're bearable.

Zaidel gives out weekly tests of 25 questions instead of midterm/finals, which is good because the tests are not cumulative. It does make you stay on top of reading, but it's nice not having to stress out about huge tests for the class. Some test questions rely on discreet wording differences in order to trick students, but most are very straight forward if you've read the book. Also, in the middle of the quarter, she started giving out extra credit as positive reinforcement for those who did well on tests.

Definitely take Zaidel if you're interested in Psychology. Just remember to fill out your test form everytime and that you can't make up tests you missed. If you're willing to read the book and are interested, an A+ in the class isn't hard to attain. :)

This class was very interesting and relaxed. She is very excited about her material and does her best to keep the class awake. We had 8 quizzes and no midterms or final. This format made it so much easier to learn each chapter in depth. Her test questions are very clear and are about material she emphasized. She also posted online hints for the quizzes the night before which always illuminate an area you should study that will be on the quiz. She is a great professor and I highly recommend taking a class with her.

Zaidel is a decent teacher. The class is quite easy, however her lecture style leaves much to be desired. She does lecture all from Powerpoint, and pretty much her entire lecture consists of reading exactly what is written on her slides. I found the lectures, so I stopped going. A number of the previous reviews seem to indicate that one needs to go to lecture in order to do well in her class, but that's not true. There are no midterms or finals, and just weekly quizzes. I went to lecture for the first few weeks, and found that she didn't cover anything on the quizzes that wasn't in the book, so I decided that it was much easier to not go to lecture, and just spend a few hours doing the reading in the afternoon before the quiz. This works very well, and I recall maybe only one question out of the roughly 200 that she gave throughout the quarter that wasn't in the book, and her quizzes are so esy that you can figure them out, anyway. The book is easy to follow, and well written, so reading it is pretty interesting and never painful. I was able to get an A+ in the class by just carfully reading the assigned chapters right before the quizzes, and I highly recommend the class. You will need to do a fair amount of reading, probably about 100 pages a week, but you will know a great deal of basic psychology by the end without having to sit through the less-than-stellar lectures. Also, you do have to participate in 6 hours of psychological experiments by grad students, but it's easy and not too boring... just do it at the beginning of the quarter. You'll be happy you're done with them before midterms have started, and if you wait until the end, you'll risk not being able to find an experiment, and if you don't complete the requirement, you'll get an incomplete. Good class to take. You'll learn psychology, get a good grade, and won't have to commit too much time to it. What more do you want from an intro class?
